Preschool party, Field Day and the Lake

McKenna graduated from her 3's preschool class last Friday and is on summer break a full 2 weeks before Anna. That is good for the nanny so she can ease into having all 3 at home for the summer! McKenna has had a wonderful school year and has really enjoyed her classmates and teachers. She has 1 more year of preschool until Kinder, but she keeps asking if she gets to go to kinder when she turns 5. Hopefully she won't be too disappointed to stay in preschool for the whole year! The kids gave a little performance and then we had snacks - a very nice end to the school year.
That same Friday Anna had field day at her school. This consisted of relay races, sponge relay, fill the bucket and hippity hop ball. I was able to sneak away from work for about an hour to go watch some of the festivities. Anna had the most fun on the sponge relay which was really just an excuse for the teachers to squeeze large amounts of water over the kids heads. As you can tell by Anna's reaction, she thought this was A LOT of fun. The last 2 weeks of school are just one party after another. Today they had Rowdy - the Dallas Cowboys mascot at the school and next week they have game day, water day, pajama day and then the end of school parties - oh the life of a kindergartener! She only has 5 school days left! Sorry about the quality on the field day photos - they are courtesy of my cell phone :)

3-legged race

Ava spent one afternoon enjoying an apple - and by enjoying I mean taking a few bites and taunting the dog. Beau wasn't sure if she was eating it or if she was going to throw it for him to fetch, but either way he wanted it!

We went to the lake for Memorial Day weekend and Patrick, Anna and McKenna braved the lake water while the rest of us watched. The pool was a little warmer so Ava and I joined them for that in between rain showers. The lake and pool were pretty exhausting, so luckily we were able to relax with some movie time. The girls love the lake because they get to have sleepovers. For the first time ever, I think they let grandma and grandpa sleep past 6 am at the lake. They have gotten pretty good at either staying in bed or playing quietly in their room until 7 am on the weekends.
Grandma is a little nervous about the girls and the water and rightly so with Ava. As we found out at the pool this weekend, she will walk right off the edge and assume you are going to catch her - which we did! Here are some shots from the lake house of our weekend.
