Happy Mother's Day

So I am a few days late - what's new? We had a great Mother's Day with both sides of the family. It was all going great until both my mom and my mother in law gave me a hard time about not updating the blog - who says in-laws don't get along? ;) We got the whole gang together at Buca de Beppo (13 total) and had a huge family style meal. Then we were going to take some pictures of all the girls and I picked Ava up out of her highchair... Side note here, we had to get Ava a new high chair because she kept climbing out of the booster chair that only snapped over her lap, she could wiggle her way out and meal time was a little stressful. We got her one that attaches to the chair, but it has shoulder straps. Now we take this with us to restaurants and our life is much easier! Back to Mother's Day... when I pick her up, someone says, 'Oh, she's all wet!' No, no - she has had a blowout poopy diaper and we are in the middle of the restaurant. I carry her, without her touching me, through the restaurant with Patrick coming behind me with the diaper bag. My sister came along to help and as I am thinking that I don't have another outfit for Ava in the bag, it becomes even worse, because not only do I not have an outfit, I don't have another diaper! This is what happens when you have 3 kids, those little details like refilling the diaper bag become lost. Since we were done with the meal, I told my sister to let everyone know we are going to the car. I wrap Ava in the changing pad and try to get her out of the restaurant without everyone realizing she has no pants on. To make the situation a little more funny, when Patrick got Ava out of the car at home, she gave her adorable grin and peed all over him. I am a little afraid of payback on Father's Day, but it was a great day all the same.

Soccer has ended for Anna and McKenna, so we have a little relaxing time and then it will all pick up again. Patrick is planning on coaching Anna's team next season and we are trying to get a team of all girls from her school. Anna is excited that he is going to coach her team. Kelly and I will be coaching McKenna and Abbie's team again, and I am really looking forward to it.

Anna's kindergarten class had a Mother's Day Tea last Friday, so I took the day off of work to go to that. It was adorable - Anna thinks I am a cup of tea because I sing songs to her at bedtime. I am happy that she thinks this is a good thing because I am a pretty bad singer! The kids served their moms cookies and tea and had a whole slideshow of each child and their mom. It was really sweet and all the mom's were getting teary eyed.
We have lots of fun stuff coming up in the next month or so - McKenna has her end of the year program for preschool, Anna finishes kindergarten, Patrick and I are going to Cancun with friends (6 couples are going!) and Grandma and Grandpa Clerkin are taking Anna and McKenna to SeaWorld! I should have lots of pictures to share soon :)

I am so glad you all had a great Mother's Day! Still laughing about the story with Ava. That is my biggest fear...the diaper bag! You never know! Have a wonderful trip! Thanks again for the card! Give the girls kisses and hugs. Tell them Addie wants to get together soon!
