Jenny’s Bridal Shower

IMG_7621

The big day is getting closer and we had a great time throwing Jenny’s Bridal Shower.  There were childhood friends, new friends and new relatives – Mitch’s mom and friend came up from Arkansas for the party.  We played the normal games and had a great time!

A little ‘blind’ drawing

These were supposed to be bouquets, but Anna thought it looked better as a hat :)

After the shower, I took a couple of photos of Jenny and Mitch.  Can’t wait for November 20!!!

Soccer Fall 2010

Both Anna and McKenna are playing soccer again this season, and as always, they are having so much fun!  Anna is still playing for the Runnin’ Horns, and as I write this (even though I have back dated it!) Anna just scored her first goal of the season last weekend!  The girls are really working on their passing and shooting – Anna was in the middle of the field, Jordan passed it up to her, Anna dribbled a few times, then Shoot! and Score!!!  I act as though I was there, but in reality, Ava had just informed me that she needed to go to the potty so we were running up the hill to the restrooms.  When I got back, I heard the news.  I was SOOO sad to have missed it :(

This is the only picture I have of McKenna in her new uniform!

Unfortunately, I have been really bad about taking pictures at Anna’s games, and Patrick NEVER takes pictures at McKenna’s (I can’t since I am coaching).  Hopefully, I will get some pictures of their last game in a few weeks!!!

Ava’s First Day of Preschool

IMG_7265

The long awaited day has arrived – Ava starts preschool!!  She is attending the same pre-school that her big sisters did, and she even has one of McKenna’s old teachers.  Miss Lynn taught McKenna in the 4’s class, and this year she has moved to the 2’s class along with Miss Della.  Ava had a pretty good first day.  She went into the classroom with no issues.  Step 1 – find your picture and put it on the school house, Step 2 – find your nametag, Step 3 – wash your hands

Step 4 – look at someone else while mommy is trying to take your picture!

I gave her a kiss and told her I was leaving and she did great!  The classroom has a one way mirror that you can watch through, so I stayed and watched her play for about 15 minutes.  I stayed just a little too long, because just as I was getting ready to leave, the waterworks started.  I have no idea what triggered them, but she was upset.  Miss Della and Miss Lynn both helped her and she finally settled down.  When I picked her up that afternoon she told me she had fun, but then she told me that she cried.  That was the only day she has cried in school, but everyday when I pick her up she tells me ‘I didn’t cry today mommy!’  She is very proud of herself and she is having a blast at school.

Proud Mommy moment – 2 weeks before she started in the 2’s class, Ava was potty trained!!! No more diapers, and no more crib for our big girl.  She has moments of wanting her crib back, but she has done great.  A few accidents here and there, but overall we couldn’t be more proud of her.  She really is growing up and it is so much fun to see her accomplish so many new things.  She is VERY vocal and talks all the time.  Her vocabulary is great, I think that comes from listening to her big sisters, and she has already figured out my iphone, the computer and the TV remote :)

More posts to come as I finally catch up over the last couple of months!
