Daddy Daughter Dance 2011

IMG_8802

It’s time for the annual Frisco Daddy Daughter Dance and the girls were as excited as ever to go.  Patrick, Anna and McKenna got all dressed up and we headed over to meet our friends for pictures.  There were 5 dads and 8 girls in the group – Ava was all dressed up, but for 1 more year she gets to hang out with me for the evening :)

You have cookies?  Ok, we will stay with the mommies!

The dads and girls had a great time at the dance then headed out for dinner.  The moms went out to dinner with the little girls and boys and had a really fun time as well.  It is so much fun to spend these special moments with such great friends!  Looking forward to next year :)

Ava’s 1st Swimming Lessons

Ava just started swimming lessons at Emler – she is going alone, no mamma in the pool with her!  The first 15 minutes of class were BRUTAL!!!  She screamed and threw a fit – so much so, that another instructor had to come over and help calm her down – by feeding her lots and lots of M&Ms :)  After she calmed down, she had a lot of fun with a friend of ours (her daddy and I work together).  We go once a week, so hopefully this week will be a little bit easier!  Anna and McKenna had fun watching the lessons, they were a little bummed that they didn’t get to swim, but Anna played photographer and took all these photos for me.

2011 Snow Days

We have had quite a few snow days so far in 2011 – the first one just delayed school by a few hours, but our second round kept the schools closed for 4 days one week and then 1 day the following week.  The 4 days were a little rough since it was more ice than snow, we didn’t go out in it until Friday even though we were home since Tuesday.

Here are some shots from Jan. 9 – the first snow days.  We didn’t have a sled, so we were using cookie sheets.  Our friends brought out the inner tubes – these were great until they popped from being run over the rocks under the snow.

Our friends got some real sleds before the next go around, but we still had fun using those and the tops to those big storage bins!  Not to mention the snowball maker – that thing really works!

It was cold, and it was a long couple of days not being able to leave the house, but I really enjoyed having the girls home for some extra time together!
